The Dalmore Distillery was founded in 1839 on the northern shores of the Cromarty Firth in the Scottish Highlands. Since 1867, the distillery has been closely associated with the Mackenzie family, whose royal stag emblem has become one of the most recognizable symbols in Scotch whisky. The Dalmore is renowned for its expertise in sherry cask maturation, producing rich and luxurious single malts.

The Dalmore 15 Year Old is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before being finished in a selection of Oloroso sherry casks, including Apostoles, Amoroso, and Matusalem. This multi-cask maturation creates a whisky of exceptional richness, balancing citrus, spice, chocolate, and dried fruit.

Tasting Notes

The nose reveals aromas of orange marmalade, raisins, dark chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, and polished oak. The palate is rich and velvety, offering flavors of dried figs, toffee, roasted coffee, orange peel, nutmeg, and sweet baking spices. The finish is long, smooth, and elegant with lingering notes of dark chocolate, sherry sweetness, oak, and warming spice.

The iconic twelve-point royal stag displayed on every bottle of The Dalmore commemorates a 13th-century legend in which Colin of Kintail, ancestor of the Mackenzie clan, saved King Alexander III from a charging stag. In recognition of this act, the Mackenzie family was granted the right to use the royal stag emblem, which remains the distillery's signature symbol today."
