Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge 2009
Suggested Food Pairings:
The history of Château Smith Haut Lafitte goes back to 1365, when the noble house of Bosq chose this terroir to run a vineyard. Then in the 18th century the Scotsman George Smith bought the estate, gave it his name, built the Chartreuse and exported the already famous barrels to England on his ships.
Elaborated with the same care as the Grand Vin: know-how and talent of the Château Smith Haut Lafitte team. An exceptional terroir, worked with the greatest respect for the environment for more than 25 years.
Tasting Notes
The 2009 Smith-Haut-Lafitte exhibits an opaque blue/purple color in addition to a glorious nose of acacia flowers, licorice, charcoal, blueberries, black raspberries, lead pencil shavings and incense. A gorgeous expression of Pessac-Leognan with sweet tannin, emerging charm and delicacy, and considerable power, depth, richness and authority.
