Kilchoman Distillery was founded in 2005 on the island of Islay, becoming the first new distillery to be built on the island in over 120 years. As one of Scotland's few farm distilleries, Kilchoman carries out every stage of production on-site for a portion of its whisky, from growing barley to bottling, while producing distinctive single malts that reflect Islay's peated tradition.

Kilchoman Machir Bay is the distillery's flagship Single Malt Scotch Whisky, named after the spectacular beach on Islay's west coast. Matured primarily in ex-bourbon barrels with a smaller proportion of Oloroso sherry casks, it balances vibrant peat smoke with citrus, vanilla, and sweet malt, creating a fresh and approachable Islay whisky.

Tasting Notes

The nose reveals aromas of lemon zest, vanilla, sea breeze, toasted malt, and gentle peat smoke. The palate is rich and lively, offering flavors of citrus, honey, caramel, black pepper, smoked malt, toasted oak, and subtle tropical fruit. The finish is long and elegant with lingering notes of peat smoke, vanilla, maritime salinity, and warming spice.
