A land with 24 centuries of history behind it, worked and preserved by three generations of winemakers with family values at their core and a commitment to an illustrious terrain that produces prestigious wines. This, in a nutshell, is the Maison Guigal. Right from the beginning the motto, “No Pains No Gains” underpins the promise made to Etienne Guigal. A commitment to work together to follow in his footsteps, to communicate the family’s passion and create so many emotions.

Produced from seven of the most exceptional plots of the domain, Château d’Ampuis is a classy, intense and dark-fruited Syrah, Viognier blend that has bacon fat, blackberry, mocha and a whole swathe of baking spices on offer. Its tannic structure and elegance contribute to its ageing potential.

Tasting Notes

Spices, black fruits and delicate oak aromas. This charming wine has a dense, expressive and intense nose. On the palate it has ample substance, tannic and racy. Flavors of prunes, blackberry and vanilla give way to a powerful, concentrated and structured palate. Try it in 2022.

Food Pairing

A slow roasted leg of lamb, braised veal or a beautiful charcuterie board.
