Fleur De Pedesclaux 2015
Suggested Food Pairings:
The second wine of Château Pédesclaux, uniquely for Pauillac, is a Merlot dominant wine. The hand-harvested grapes undergo a long cold maceration of eight weeks and punching down of the cap is regularly carried out during fermentation. The wine is aged for about 16 months in 60% new and 40% one-year-old barrels. Blossoming as soon as it is opened. With its richer concentration in merlot, this wine offers a softer, lighter touch with a warm and silky texture. Its fruity aromas are intense, crisp and pleasing on the palate.
Tasting Notes
A beautiful plum color. The nose is explosive and reveals notes of pastry with red fruits, candied lemons and peach in syrup. Rhubarb appears after aeration. The palate is very delicate and airy, supported by a nice freshness and well-coated tannins. The finish ends with redcurrant.
