Fernet Branca Liqueur
"Fernet-Branca
Brand & History
Fernet-Branca is an Italian herbal liqueur first produced in Milan in 1845 by Bernardino Branca. Still owned by the Branca family, it is one of the world's most iconic amari, renowned for its complex recipe and enduring popularity as both a digestif and a cocktail ingredient.
Product
Fernet-Branca is made from a blend of 27 herbs, roots, and spices sourced from around the world, including myrrh, saffron, rhubarb, chamomile, cardamom, and aloe. The botanicals are infused in alcohol before the liqueur is aged in oak casks for at least one year, resulting in a deeply aromatic and intensely bitter profile.
Tasting Notes
The nose is intensely herbal with aromas of mint, eucalyptus, chamomile, and warm spices. The palate is bold and complex, offering flavors of bitter herbs, licorice, menthol, dark spices, and earthy roots, leading to a long, refreshing finish with lingering bitterness.
