Amaretto Disaronno Originale
Disaronno is an amaretto (almond-flavored liqueur) with a recipe which dates back to 1525. It was first commercially produced and marketed by the Reina family in the early 20th century in Saronna, just outside of Milano. Originally called Amaretto di Saronno, the iconic square bottle first arrived in 1942. In 2001, the brand dropped Amaretto from its name and is now simply called Disaronno.
Disaronno captures the senses with its amber colour, rich aroma and incomparable taste which has made it the world's favourite Italian liqueur.
Tasting Notes
The sweet almond aroma on the nose is bright and lively and practically jumps out of the glass. The almond flavor is sweet, but not super cloying and provides a nutty, toasted backnote on the finish. Pleasant and delivers what is promised. Classic cocktails to try are the Amaretto Sour and the Godfather. But if you've got a sweet tooth after dinner, serve Disaronno on ice.
Perfect on its own or over ice, Disaronno is also great to mix with. Try it with your favourite fruit juice (such as orange or cranberry), with cola or in a stylish cocktail.
