Château Guiraud is a wine estate in Sauternes, Bordeaux. It was classified as Premier Cru in the 1855 Classification and is one of the region's most famous wine estates. Guiraud's vineyards are planted with Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, with the former making up the majority of the lusciously sweet botrytized wine.

Chateau Guiraud is among the classified growths of 1855 and holds a place in the “Primer Cru” category along with ten other estates. It maybe worthy of note that it was the 9th best wine during this classification.

Tasting Notes

The wine is rich and very structured. 2006 already expresses itself by minerality and coolness in mouth. Notes of honey, spices and exotic fruit are very present. Concentrated, the texture is silky and greedy. A very beautiful balance. Delivers lots of botrytis spice, with lemon tart and cooked apple. Full-bodied, with loads of cream and vanilla and an intense tropical fruit and honey aftertaste. Long and viscous, with a layered and beautiful spicy finish.
