Château Belle-Vue is now openly considered as one of Medoc’s best Crus Bourgeois and is often ranked at the same level as certain Crus Classés. Its deep gravel soil confer to a subtle balance between finesse and strength. The 9,73-hectare vineyard is located on a plateau with deep gravelly soil (7-10 meters) adjacent to Château Giscours in Margaux AOC.

For the 2016 vintage, the wine was made of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 20% Petit Verdot. The Merlot grapes were picked between the 3rd and the 6th of October and expressed freshness, intensity and complexity. The winemaker waits until the 14th of October to harvest the Cabernet sauvignon grapes, in order to reach the perfect stage of balance between tannic, velvety and aromatic strengths. The Petit Verdot grapes, once more exceptional, reach their full maturity between the 15th and the 22nd of October. Freshness, density, velvety, complexity and aromatic opening best describe the 2016 vintage. One key word of this vintage is balance!

Tasting Notes

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Belle-Vue delivers bold scents of crushed blackberries, fresh blackberries and Morello cherries with touches of wild thyme, forest floor and cinnamon stick. The medium-bodied palate offers mouth-filling black fruits with a firm grip of chewy tannins and freshness, finishing with a minty kick.
