Another cracking release from Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular range - this time it's a 21 year old single malt from the Glenrothes distillery! It was aged in a bourbon hogshead from September 1996 to March 2018, then bottled at cask strength with an outturn of 257 bottles.
A typically rich Speysider on the nose, showing barley, cashew nuts, spices and honey. The palate is warmingly spiced with gentle oak, fruit pastilles and malt to the fore, with creamy mocha on the finish initially, heading back to the earlier honey and nuts.
