Primitivo is a large, ripe Italian grape that is the pride of the Apulia region in the south of Italy. It is perhaps better recognized by its alter ego Zinfandel.
Tasting Notes
Dark ruby-red colored. L arge, lingering aroma with notes of plums, completely ripe red fruit, and subtle spices. Dry with a strong foundation and exceptional roundness. It has a remarkable long-lasting rich fruitiness on the palate.
Food Pairing
Ideal with flavorful pasta, red meats that have been roasted or prepared in sauces, as well as aged cheeses.
