In 1970, Enrique Forner founded Marqués de Cáceres, Unión Vitivinícola, S.A., a historic Alliance between a region (Cenicero, La Rioja Alta), an enterprising family, the best vine growers and vineyards in La Rioja, and a Bordeaux concept which revolutionised the production and business model. Enrique had one objective - to obtain the best wines. This obsession continues to be the leitmotiv of Cristina Forner, the third generation of this wine family.

Antea is a result of bringing together two of the most interesting white Rioja varieties: Viura and Tempranillo Blanco. Plots of old vines of Viura merged with old red vineyards that bring great structure and elegance and a small percentage of the indigenous Tempranillo Blanco variety. This offers acidity, freshness, vivacity and an excellent capacity for aging. Antea is fermented on its lees for 2 months in new French oak barrels to add complexity.

Tasting Notes

Antea stands out for its elegance and finesse. Its intense and complex aroma combines ripe apples with delicate toasted notes and light traces of minerals. In the mouth it is silky, soft and full, with delicious flavours and a balanced complexity. This magnificent white wine reveals the character of its local grapes with elegance and class.

Food Pairing

An excellent pairing for richer fish dishes such a seafood pasta or fish with a tahini sauce.
