Suggested Food Pairings:
Maison Louis Jadot is one of the most trusted and revered wine houses in Burgundy’s Côte d’Or. Frédéric Barnier, Jadot’s esteemed winemaker, and his team balance tradition and technology, focusing on the purest expression of each wine’s terroir. These principles of vinification take the lightest possible hand in winemaking, and produce the essence of fine Burgundy. Founded in 1859, the house now owns 528 acres of vineyards, including 280 acres of the Cote d’Or’s most prestigious Premier and Grand Cru plots.
This Pinot Noir is one of the best selling Jadot wines. Louis Jadot Bourgogne Couvent des Jacobins is a blend of wine made from grapes sourced from the Burgundy wine-growing regions of the Cote d’Or and the Cote de Beaune. A medium-bodied red wine, showing red berry aromas and flavors that become spicy and earthy with age. Approachable in its youth, yet this wine will develop beautifully with age.
Tasting Notes
It offers a color of medium intensity, purplish in its youth changing to ruby and then garnet, after several years in the bottle. It is harmonious and balanced, with plump fruitiness and silky texture which is offset by round and gentle tannins. This wine is medium bodied and holds elegant structure. The very typical, fragrant varietal bouquet is complemented by a deliciously lingering finish.
Food Pairing
When this wine is young, serve it slightly chilled with red meat, or after a couple years of cellaring, serve it with more nuanced dishes such as game or cheese.
