Niepoort Drink Me Red 2020

Overall, the 2020 vintage was an excellent year for Niepoort’s red wines, which have a full-bodied flavor, deep color, and firm tannins. After arriving at Quinta de Nápoles, the grapes were carefully destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures for about a week. A portion of the wine was aged in French oak barriques, while the remainder was aged in stainless steel for around 6 months.

The wine has a lovely, vivid color that reveals violet tones when swirled. Floral scents blend with red berry notes and a slight minty character to give the wine richness and freshness. With considerable acidity, the palate is incredibly round and delicate. This is a straightforward red wine from the Douro Valley. An delicate, crisp, and easy-drinking expression of the terroir that showcases its origins and richness of grape varietals.
