The Hauts du Tertre is the second wine of Chateau du Tertre. A Fifth Classified Growth of 1855, the Chateau du Tertre is a 52-hectare vineyard in Margaux sitting on soils consisting of Garonne gravel and sands of glacial origins. Chateau du Tertre is aged in French oak barrels (50% new wood) for an average of 12 to 15 months. This second wine of Château du Tertre, Les Hauts du Tertre Rouge is derived from a selection of the younger vines. This careful selection gives the bottle a beautiful aromatic complexity with notes of both spicy and fruity.
