Joseph Drouhin Hospices de Beaune Meursault Cuvee Loppin 2015
Suggested Food Pairings:
Hospices de Civiles de Beaune is a former charitable almshouse founded in 1443 in the town of Beaune. It is now a modern hospital, with the original buildings serving as a museum. Since 1859, a charity wine auction has raised funds for the hospital with the wines produced being released under the Hospice's umbrella label and the Loppin family has long gifted this Cuvee made from the village of Meursault to the Hospices.
Tasting Notes
This cuvée has a fine pale primrose color, full of energy. With attractive fruit and flowers together on the nose, this has the full-on density of classic village Meursault, with a sense of the nuttiness which will develop with time in bottle. The acid balance is just right too.
Food Pairing
Grilled fish and mussels with creamy sauce.
Grape Variety: Chardonnay.
Country: Burgundy - France
