La Gravette de Certan 2014
Suggested Food Pairings:
This second wine of Vieux Chateau Certan is so good it is sinful. Made by Alexander Thienpont, of whom Robert Parker has said, in reviewing a previous vintage, "Alexander Thienpont continues to turn out brilliant wines from this property situated on the high plateau of Pomerol." A gorgeous right bank wine 80% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tasting Notes
The 2014 Gravette has a deep purple color, an attractive nose of raspberries, cherries, liquorice and wood leaves. On the palate, the wine has a nice balance and a round and generous texture. This wine can be enjoyed young on the fruit and drunk slightly chilled. A very pretty Pomerol worthy of a large estate.
