Maison Louis Jadot is one of the most trusted and revered wine houses in Burgundy’s Côte d’Or. Frédéric Barnier, Jadot’s esteemed winemaker, and his team balance tradition and technology, focusing on the purest expression of each wine’s terroir. These principles of vinification take the lightest possible hand in winemaking, and produce the essence of fine Burgundy. Founded in 1859, the house now owns 528 acres of vineyards, including 280 acres of the Cote d’Or’s most prestigious Premier and Grand Cru plots.

Another beautiful Cru Beaujolais from Jadot; Fleurie is surely the most popular Cru. This wine from Jadot made from Gamay grapes is seductive and drinkable. It is made in the transitional Beaujolais semi-carbonic maceration method where they leave whole grape clusters fermenting intact for 12-20 days.

Tasting Notes

Full of succulent ripe raspberry and cherry fruits; it is is supple, silky and fresh. Some time in oak has enhanced the complexity and structure. On the palate is has fine tannins, like just-set ceramic clay, lightly gripping fairly cool red fruit, cranberry and slightly sour cherry. The finish is sparsely dusted with cinnamon and graphite. Mouthwatering and lean, with an unexpectedly long finish.

Food Pairing

Cured meats and mild cheeses. Grilled and roasted red and white meats but also stands up to heavier casseroles and stews.

Grape Variety: Gamay

Country: Beaujolais - France
