Caol Ila 10 Year 2010 Year Provenance Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Caol Ila's spirit is so fine that it tastes great even at relatively young ages, particularly from refill casks that allow the pure, fresh distillery character to shine through.

This is a Caol Ila from the 2010 vintage, bottled as a 10-year-old from a refill hogshead in 2020 by Douglas Laing for their Provenance range.

Tasting Notes

Distinctly maritime with sea salt coated smoked ham, burning bonfire embers and rock ponds. Really oceanic with a sweeter quality, moving to gentle smoke and Scottish barley on the palate. On the finish one immediately detects a big peat style developing to oak and leather with blueberries and black pepper.
