About the producer:
Weingut Judith Beck is an acclaimed organic and biodynamic estate in Gols, Burgenland, Austria. Founded in 1976 and certified biodynamic in 2007, the winery emphasizes minimal intervention, native yeast fermentations, and a strong connection to the local terroir.

About the region:
Burgenland, on Austria’s eastern border along Lake Neusiedl, is renowned for its warm Pannonian climate and varied soils. These conditions suit Zweigelt well, helping it produce expressive, fruit-forward reds with freshness and elegance.

About the grape variety:
Zweigelt is Austria’s most widely planted red grape, a cross between St. Laurent and Blaufränkisch. It’s known for lively red-cherry fruit, soft tannins, easy drinkability, and a hint of spice.

Style and tasting notes:
Judith Beck’s Zweigelt 2021 is medium-bodied and juicy, with bright, dark cherry aromas and dusty-earth undertones. On the palate it’s soft and round, with supple tannins and elegant spice. The finish shows understated minerality and lingering peppery tones.

Trivia:
The grapes are hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented in stainless steel, macerated for about two weeks, then aged briefly in old barrels.
