Château des Jacques Beaujolais White 2023

About the producer:
Château des Jacques, owned by Maison Louis Jadot, is one of the most prestigious estates in Beaujolais. It is known for elevating the region’s reputation through Burgundian winemaking methods and a focus on terroir-driven wines.

About the region:
Beaujolais, located just south of Burgundy, is best known for its reds from Gamay, but it also produces elegant whites from Chardonnay. The limestone soils and cool climate lend finesse, minerality, and freshness to the wines.

About the grape variety:
Made entirely from Chardonnay, the same noble white grape that defines Burgundy. In Beaujolais, Chardonnay expresses a lively and fruit-forward style with excellent balance and purity.

Style and tasting notes:
Bright and aromatic, with notes of green apple, pear, and white flowers. The palate is crisp and smooth, offering citrus and mineral tones with a refreshing, clean finish.

Trivia:
Although Beaujolais is famous for its reds, less than 5% of the region’s production is white — making Château des Jacques’ Beaujolais Blanc a rare and elegant expression of southern Burgundy’s terroir.
