Old Particular Auchentoshan 21 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky
A single cask 1997 vintage Auchentoshan, allowed to rest in a refill hogshead for 21 years before being bottled in September 2018 by Douglas Laing for the Old Particular series. Bottled at cask strength, a punchy 51.5% ABV, with only 114 bottles released.
Tasting Notes
Expect a bright, deep copper color from your Auchentoshan 21 Year Old. What gives whisky its colour? The sustained maturing process over the course of 21 years. As the Single Malt matures in the quality bourbon and sherry barrels, a new and complex colour and flavour profile is created over time.
Nose: Marmalade on buttery toast, then comes damp oak and honeycomb.
Palate: A vanilla cream character with dried fruits, toasted nuts and crystallized ginger.
