The grapes for this wine come from Quinta do Carril, a north-facing vineyard with over 70 years of history, as well as from 100-year-old vineyards neighboring Quinta de Nápoles. Batuta is the result of a precise vinification process that includes extensive maceration but little extraction and meticulous attention to detail in order to produce a complex, subtle, and exquisite wine.
Purple colored with typical graphite, floral and wild fruit scents blending perfectly with undertones of oak The palate is youthful, linear, and structured, with the freshness and grace that characterize Niepoort's style. With a spicy character, the finish is lengthy and lingers on the palate.
The Batuta is a versatile food wine that goes well with a variety of meats and fish, including monkfish, squid, and grilled octopus.
