Chateau Cartier 2018

Suggested Food Pairings:

Second wine of Château Fonroqu, Château Cartier seems to have a "second wine" only in name. The choice of the term "Château" before that of "Cartier" is not insignificant. Although its ageing potential is shorter than that of Fonroque, it is reputed to be rounder and more flexible and clearly has its own identity. This vintage is fine and fruity with a tense and persistent finish. This second wine, which looks like a premier, is a great success, a very good deal in Saint-Emilion Grand Cru.
Tasting Notes
The wine is adorned with a beautiful deep garnet color. Captivating by its immediate aromas of peony, rose, lemongrass, jasmine and black cherries, it is gradually enriched with tobacco, grenadine, medjool dates, salted caramel and rosemary. Its structure is velvety and spherical. It releases a harmonious, physiological and saline sensation.
