Château Boyd-Cantenac is one of fourteen 3éme Crus (Third Growths) in the historic Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. Boyd-Cantenac has belonged to the Guillemet family since 1932, who have devoted themselves to developing this property, and Château Pouget, which they also own. Its vineyard lies on sandy-gravelly soil with a very high proportion of gravel. All the processes of great wine are combined together to create this wonderful wine, including; low yield, quality of the terroir and choice of grape varieties.

Boyd-Cantenac's wine is distinguished by its character and its subtle bouquet that make it so popular with Margaux fans. This wine is aged for about two years in oak barrels and vats before being bottled. It will benefit from being kept in the cellar for many years before being drunk.

Tasting Notes

The 2016 vintage was 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet franc. Fresh with dark red berries, smoke, earth and forest floor notes, with an excellent tannic structure that will age beautifully.
